Danielle Woodhouse

Company Director
Tap / Modern / Irish / Musical Theatre / Theatre Club / Strength & Flex / Cheer Dance

Born and bred on the Fylde Coast, Danielle trained in drama and various dance styles from the age of three, completing qualifications with ISTD, LAMDA and RAD. She has performed in a variety of productions and events at different venues around the UK, and has gained a vast knowledge of theatre, both backstage and on stage.

Over the years she has taught and choreographed for numerous companies and dance schools, and she is the current choreographer for Blackpool & Fylde Light Opera Company (BFLOC). Recent works have included 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang', '42nd Street' and 'The Wizard of Oz', all performed at The Grand Theatre, Blackpool.

Woodhouse Academy was founded in July 2018 with the aim to provide theatre training for all ages and abilities, regardless of past experience, and a place to meet like minded people. Over the years the school expanded to include a larger variety of lessons at multiple venues, and we are now proud to be able to offer all our lessons from our own studios!

Danielle also co-founded Willow Theatre Productions in 2018. The company's vision is to create quality theatre with a focus on intimate, powerful and thought-provoking pieces.

Danielle has a love of all aspects of the performing arts with a particular passion for dance and drama, which is shown in her teaching and resonates with all her students.

Darcie Quilligan

Ballet / Modern / Street Dance / Theatre Club

Darcie began dancing at the age of 3, studying various styles including Tap, Modern, Ballet, Irish and Street Dance. She has completed numerous graded examinations in dance and singing, receiving merits and distinctions, including her final Advanced 2 Tap exam.

Darcie continued her training in Musical Theatre and Performing Arts at Blackpool Sixth Form College, where she played the part of Fantine in their production of Les Miserables. Over the years she has performed in a multitude of shows, pantomimes and musicals, both as a dancer and in principal roles.

She is currently in her third and final year at UCLAN studying Musical Theatre, where she played the Witch in their recent production of Into The Woods. Darcie can't wait to get started in our new studio and continue to pass on her knowledge and passion to our younger students!

Courtney Staff

Courtney began dancing at the age of 2, and over the years has studied and competed in many genres, including Tap, Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Commercial and Lyrical. She has undertaken graded examinations with boards such as ISTD and RAD, and is currently completing a Professional Dance and Teaching Diploma at Preston College.

In recent years, Courtney has trained under Stephen Morgan, Josh Wharmby, Jen Cassidy and the MM Jazz twins, to name a few.

Courtney loves to perform on stage, and has appeared in many pantomimes and musicals in theatres around Blackpool and the surrounding areas, such as 42nd Street, Boogie Nights and The Wizard of Oz. She hopes to continue to perform, and plans to begin auditioning once she has completed her training.

Courtney is excited to join the team, and can’t wait to share her knowledge and passion with the students at Woodhouse Academy.

Amelia Wilkins

Singing

Amelia has performed all of her life, and although she is a true triple-threat, singing is her favourite of the three disciplines.

She has competed in many national singing competitions, the most recent of which saw her perform in the final of West End Calling on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s west end stage. She also reached the grand final of Teen Star in 2017, competing against thousands of applicants.

Amelia has also performed in many productions over the years, such as Wind in the Willows and Footloose, and has been cast in leading roles as Sandy in Grease and Anne Pornick in Half a Sixpence.

Amelia has 4 years prior experience as a singing teacher, and cannot wait to help the students of Woodhouse Academy to reach their full potential and goals.

Glen Reynolds

Zumba

Glen was born in Cheltenham where he lived until he was 17. He started dancing at 5 years old and the rest was history! Fun fact, Glen was in the final 5 to play the part Harry Potter in the films of the same name, although was beat to the post by Mr Radcliffe.

At age 17, he then moved to London after being awarded a full scholarship at Bird College. He trained there for 3 years full time in professional dance and musical theatre and also gained his teaching qualifications in ISTD tap and modern.

Upon graduation he appeared in various pantomimes in the UK, such as Robinson Crusoe, Snow White, Jack and the Beanstalk and Aladdin. For the other 9 months of the year he was in a touring show team which toured around the Balaeric Islands.

Now, he has a slightly quieter life and teaches Zumba classes which he LOVES, and is super excited to be part of the Woodhouse teaching faculty.
